I am a Registered Kinesiologist in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO). I obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Kinetics from Ottawa University. I furthered my educational journey in Ottawa by completing my Masters in Human Kinetics with a Concentration in Intervention and Consultation in Sport, Health, and Exercise.
My professional experience includes clinical work specializing in exercise prescription for persons living with mobility impairments, and health promotion with a focus on behavioural lifestyle change. My role with Odyssey includes working with an interdisciplinary team of professionals to provide support for persons who are not engaging fully in their lives due to chronic pain and or mental health difficulties. My approach to treatment involves the development and implementation of behavioural activation programs. As a registered yoga instructor, my treatment style is infused with the use of mindfulness and connecting to the present moment, both of which are strategies of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to assist individuals get back into their lives in a meaningful way.
In order to maintain a positive work-life balance, outside of work you can find me spending time with family and friends, connecting with nature, or teaching yoga. I live an active lifestyle and enjoy hiking, skiing, paddle boarding, and walking my dog.
