I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
I hold a Masters Degree in Applied Psychology from Laurentian University. I have also attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, and graduated Cum Laude with an Honours Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Laurentian University.
I have worked with diverse populations of individuals, couples, families, and small groups throughout my 14 years in the Mental Health and Addictions field. As a Métis, I have found it particularly rewarding to have worked with various Indigenous communities in the past.
I utilize a holistic approach and various treatment modalities that are both client-centered and values-based to help clients approach their respective challenges and move towards personalized goals in more personally meaningful and impactful ways. I have experience applying Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), traditional Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Behavioural Activation (BA), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness interventions. I have additional certified training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, Trauma Informed Care, and Indigenous mental health.
In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time at the cottage with my spouse, our two children, and three Siberian Huskies. As an avid outdoorsman, I understand and appreciate the importance of balance in one’s life.
