I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree and a minor in Psychology. I obtained my Master of Science specializing in exercise prescription, fall and fracture prevention and health psychology from the University of Waterloo.
I have education and experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Behavioural Activation (BA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, Mindfulness Practice, and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
I have extensive experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, grief, stress, workplace difficulties, and chronic pain. I believe that everyone can get stuck sometimes, and focus on equipping individuals with the tools, skills, and strategies to enable them to live their most full and meaningful life. I also believe that it is possible to take meaningful action towards what matters most in the presence of difficulty, and feel that it is an incredible privilege that my role enables me to help to facilitate those meaningful changes in others. I have experience providing psychotherapy services in clinical and in-home settings, phone counselling and online secure videoconferencing.
A healthy work-life balance is important to me. In my spare time, I enjoys reading, exercising, cooking, practicing yoga and travelling. I love spending time with my family, and really enjoy hiking with my husband and Weimaraner.
