I am a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (CKO). I completed a Bachelor’s of Science (Honours) in Kinesiology from Laurentian University, and a Bachelor’s of Social Sciences (Honours) from the University of Ottawa.
In over ten years working as a Kinesiologist in a variety of rehabilitation settings, I have developed a passion for helping guide clients in achieving their goals through the integration of functional activation programs and behavioural change. By adopting a person-centered approach to recovery from injury, I seek to support clients to return to meaningful activity. In particular, I have worked extensively with workers experiencing challenges related to musculoskeletal injury, concussion, persistent pain and mental health conditions. Since 2016, I have been engaged with injured workers in recovery from workplace injuries with the development of rehabilitation programs and safe, effective and progressive return to work planning. My intention to be a life-long learner has led me to continual professional development, including completing training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Advanced Exercise Prescription, Concussion Management and Treating Persistent Pain.
In addition to my clinical work, I enjoy supporting the profession of Kinesiology in Ontario by having mentored several Kinesiology students and contributing to activities of the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
Outside my work as a Kinesiologist, I value spending time with my family, being in nature while camping and staying active with running and weight training.
